Cherry Grove Farm is seeking an energetic and experienced individual for the Dairy Herd Manager Position at its sustainable grass fed farm. The Herd Manager manages all activities in the daily operations of the Milking team and coordinates team members to assist in daily operational needs. This position reports to the Production Manager, Andrew Insua for all authority and would commit to every 3 month evaluations with the Production Manager.

The successful candidate will lead one team of 3-5 staff members responsible for the proactive maintenance and management of the farm's grass fed dairy herd, working with the Production Manager and other members of Farm teams to anticipate future growth needs with a commitment to the highest standards of quality control on all workflows. Herd Manager will also work with DHIA in coordination with the Production Manager. In addition, milk & cheese quality issues will be worked on collaboratively with the Head Cheesemaker, Paul Lawler.

The goal of this position is to deliver clean, high quality milk for cheesemaking (as all of our milk goes into cheese). We need some one who can connect well with our landscape, people and cows. The ideal candidate will treasure concepts of regenerative, low-input agriculture. In short, someone who can holistically deliver the healthiest cheesemilk to make award-winning cheese from!

Compensation: This position is salaried between 50k-75k
